A partnership across two countries, Jeremy from the USA and Joanne from Canada, we share our love of all things collectible with each other and the world! Our passion is vintage items from the late 1800’s to mid-1900’s – those with history and a story behind them. What conversations were held at that antique farm table? Someone possibly shared delightful news, as they shook their salt and pepper shakers over their morning eggs. And who thumbed through this beautiful vintage magazine, curled up beside family, with the sweet sounds of that phonograph playing in the background.
Everything has history. Everything has a story. Everything has beauty. And, everything is collectible.
What started as a hobby for each of us… Jeremy with antique John Deere tractors and Joanne with antique coffee and tobacciana… has now turned into a full time passion for both. When not out picking though estate sales, auction nights, garage sales and barn cleanouts, you’ll find us cleaning, repairing and most often researching in wonder the fabulous things we have found!
Treasures can be found all over the world and we are both fortunate enough to live in vintage, history rich locations. Our passion has spread to our daughter, who no matter where she is in North America, can spot a new item for her own collection the moment she arrives, where ever we go. Her enthusiasm is so contagious – typically resulting in the seller giving her the item free 🙂 We soon will need a third home to house her own bird figurine collection!
Creating a collection is one of the most satisfying pastimes one can have. Especially when started young. To be able to look back at not only the possible history of the items you have found, but to also be able to bring up your own memories of when or where you found your gem. I still remember ripping open my first eBay package, so excited to see which tobacco tin I ordered had arrived first. Or the outrageous tobacco advertisement covered necktie Jeremy found at an off the beaten path antique shop, that he still often insists on wearing when we go out hunting. My first time sitting on a 1939 John Deere Model A, wondering how much macaroni and cheese we had to eat to put this in our yard. And my favorite to date, taking our daughter at 6 yrs old to pick up a used house shaped wooden shelf for her birds, and hearing the squeal of delight as the woman gave her all her own birds to add to her collection. No charge.
Precious memories and added history to each and every item we touch.
Our goal at Bliffin House is to pass on many of these items to you. We share our finds through our eBay Store, Etsy Shop and here at BliffinHouseCollectibles.com. We are reclaiming our history, one piece at a time, and passing it onto your safe keeping. Join us. Share with us. Create more memories and history with us!
